3 Steps for Establishing Good Credit
1. Pay bills on time. A late payment will drag down your score just as quickly as a few months of consistent payments will boost your credit
2. Pay down the maxed out cards first. Points are deducted from your score any time you charge more than 50% of a card’s limit. Keep your spending limit below this level.
3. Do not cancel any of your credit cards. Because one-third of your score is based on how you use the credit available to you, cutting up credit cards can be detrimental to this measurement. |
